Magpie Tales #21

(This is my first attempt at submitting a Magpie Tale. Magpie Tales is a wonderfully creative blog in which a picture is posted and one is to write a vignette or poem about the image. So here goes my best shot - Can you guess what I think it is?)

gentle softness unspoken

quietly weathered, nestled and soft

silently lying in wait

for a spark of a moment

to be free to fly

bursting with color and light

soaring and reaching

against the night

illuminating faces in awe

shining in wide eyes, then

softly shimmering down

glittering with reflection

disappearing into the sky

This is just my take on the photo, but there are many other writers creating their interpretations at Magpie Tales, so if you're in the mood for an interesting read, check it out!

  1. I loved this Magpie I could almost hear the rumbled explosions of the fireworks and the "oohs" and "aaahs" I could feel the chilled summer dusk air filled with anticipation and excitement. You brought me there! Thanks for that! Wonderful just wonderful
