The Hong Kong Tea House Restaurant is an established restaurant featuring Chinese specialties in Salt Lake City. Consistently the recipients of local culinary awards, they have been servicing the Salt Lake area for many years with wonderfully tasty Chinese food.
Delicate and flavorful Dim Sum is served in many variations. They are tender and delicious, like tiny little flavor bombs that just explode into your mouth. Everyday before 3:00 p.m., they serve many choices of Dim Sum at extremely reasonable prices. For instance, a platter containing (4) crab meat dumplings will run $3.50, while a platter of (3) Shrimp and Chive dumplings while go for $2.95 a plate. If you go with a few friends, everyone can sample a variety of Dim Sum for just a few bucks. The center of the table spins- so that a tasty, mouthwatering dumpling will be right within reach!
They also have generous servings of entrees such as the General Tso's Chicken, that has a sweet, spicy, almost candied crust, made from real sections of the chicken and is priced at $7.99 and comes with white rice. For vegetarians, they have a wonderful entree, Braised Tofu with Tender Green that comes with little sauteed baby Bok Choy that is so fresh and delicious for $6.99.
If you enjoy shrimp then, oh baby, this dish is for you! The Prawns with Honey Glazed walnuts are out of this world. The shrimp is coated with a slight crust that is infused with honey and the walnuts are toasted and crunchy, for $12.99.
The service is impeccable. One of my dining companions dropped their chopsticks and was going to call out to the waitress, but I told them to wait and I would just simply finish the water in my glass. Sure enough, as I finished the glass, the waitress was there in a heartbeat to refill it. If you are in the Salt Lake area please check it out!
